WE ARE FUCKING BACK, AND LETS FUCKING GO.

Lets be honest many of us didn’t think we would be here would we? We didn’t expect football on any level. I personally knew college was going to be difficult to play a season, and thankfully we have somewhat an abbreviated season. As for the NFL I think most people understood that with the amount of money at stake not only for the league, but also the players they would try there damn hardest to play and finish the season. But for now we enjoy football and gambling on it.

Betting on football is always a ridiculous thing to do. You can get caught up in so many minuscule story lines or stats that you get lost in the sauce. Now add the threat of players missing time with COVID and betting on football has become a whole entire room is on fire but I’m fine type of moment scenario.

But we will still bet because we are degens and we are here to fuck the house up. So lets get to the winning bets of the first weekend of football!!!

Oh and if you are curious about my actual numbers from last year you can look at my total wins and losses here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DjsCdiexCzp-f0vtsQQitgJ26_ehacmu7K6NTOD5YHM/edit?usp=sharing

3. Arkansas State +10.5 @ Kansas State

I wouldn’t say I am extremely confident in this pick but I did want to add a third pick to this small slate of games. But I still feel good about the Red Wolves, who are led by a very underrated quarterback Logan Bonner who missed eight games with a busted thumb. But this guy is a playmaker and I think him and some other offensive weapons can keep up with this slower and beat up Kansas State team. I think the Red Wolves keep it close.

2. Duke +20 @ Notre Dame

Notre Dame might just make it to the playoffs this season but that doesn’t mean they can’t struggle against David Cutcliffe, who if you did not know coached both Manning brothers and the newest Cutcliffe NFL prodigy, Daniel Jones. Yeah, I bet you didn’t.

Now the new Cutcliffe NFL ready quarterback (I actually have no clue if this is true but I assume it is because that’s all Cutcliffe does) is Chase Brice, a former Clemson quarterback. Clemson ain’t recruiting normal quarterbacks, so you know that this Brice kid is ready to go.

1.Clemson-Wake Forest Over 60.5 Points

Clemson might just score 60 by themselves and then add on Wake Forests at least 10 points, this is the easiest money all weekend.

NFL

Lets start with some futures eh?

Texans over 7.5 wins (-120)

I feel like Vegas sleeps on the Texans every damn year and the Texans end up winning 9-10 games. I understand that a superstar receiver has left in Deandre Hopkins, but this offense can still be highly explosive. Deshaun Watson is a winner, and he still has some decent receiving options in Brandin Cooks, Will Fuller, Kenny Stills and the trusty Randall Cobb. The offensive line could be a top 5 in the league, and the defense is always scrappy. It also helps that the Texans play in a relatively weak division, the AFC South.

Panthers under 5.5 wins (EV)

I actually really liked the Matt Rhule hire. He literally has turned around every team he has taken over for. But his first seasons are usually pretty bad. Ok, actually very bad. At Temple his first season record was 2-10, his last was 10-3. At his next stop Baylor in his last season he went to the Sugar Bowl and finished the season 11-3. In his first season at Baylor his record was 1-11. Now I know that’s only two examples but Rhule clears house in his first season and he doesn’t care about the wins or losses, he knows he’s trying to find the right players to turn this thing around. Oh it also doesn’t help that they have a new quarterback, lost an all pro linebacker and a couple of offensive lineman.

JK Dobbins to win Offensive Rookie of the Year (+2300)

The odds say that this is just a desperate flier pick, but I honestly think Dobbins could surpass Ingram on the depth (if he hasn’t already) and completely takes a hold of the starting job. Combine those touches in a similar offense that he ran at Ohio State and add in the increase in talent that he’s now playing with I could see a huge season for him. Yes he’ll have to beat out Joe Burrow or maybe some of the receivers, but imagine a Dobbins and Lamar Jackson backfield and how glorious that could be.

Cam Newton to win MVP (+2500)

Ok, this is a total flier pick but I do have some reasoning behind this. Josh McDaniels is an offensive genius and so is Bill Belichick. These guys have studied offenses dating back to beginning of football, so they’re going to know what to do with a talent like Newton. Now you’re asking “you think he’s a talent?”. I understand your questions considering the injury history with Newton but with everything I’ve read Newton is 100 percent healthy and ready to go. And let’s be real, Belichick wouldn’t have signed him if he didn’t think he could play. This is a long shot bet but I like these odds considering the fit.

Old Cam may be back

Eagles -5.5 @ Washington

Ron Rivera has Washington headed the right way even if Dan Snyder continues to try to bring the franchise to its demise, but Rivera’s optimism isn’t going to help them against a very good and yet underrated Eagles team. As long as Wentz is healthy the Eagles have no excuses not to handle Washington.

Eagles 27 Washington 14

Green Bay Packers +120 @ Vikings

The Vikings should really win this game. They are the much better and physical team, but when Aaron Rodgers is at quarterback and it’s early in the season anything is possible. I think Rodgers has a big year this season and the Vikings lose a heartbreaker on either Rodgers game winning drive or Kirk Cousins pick. Wish I could bet on that…

Packers 27 Vikings 24

Cards +6.5 @ 49ers

At this point everyone is on the Cardinals bandwagon. It makes sense with a second year quarterback who had a really good rookie season that is now surrounded by more weapons. The offensive line has patched it up a bit and the defense is not as bad as people think it is. No I don’t think there’s anyway they win this game against a top 5 team in the 49ers but I think they keep it close.

49ers 28 Cards 23

Bucs +158 @ Saints

This might be the game of the week with all the hype going into the game, and I really think it’s going to live up to it. It’s difficult to bet against Tom Brady in big games especially when he has something to prove (which he always does). You know he wants to go out there beat the Saints and Drew Brees to prove that he can do it without Belichick. And don’t count out this Bucs defense now that they have a quarterback that won’t turn it over every other possession.

Bucs 31 Saints 27

Cowboys -Rams over 51.5

Vegas knows what they’re doing here at this line. Last season the Cowboys averaged 27.1 points per game and the Rams averaged 24.6. Add that up and you get just over 51.5. But let’s think about this for a minute. We know that both of these offenses are some of the best in the NFL and they just got stronger in the offseason adding multiple weapons. Meanwhile both defenses have remained just above average, but primetime game and two explosive offensives equals points for me. This should be a good one.
